ALWAYS A PLEASURE...

It is always a pleasure being invited to share our music and testimony at churches, and on this event at Hamilton's Bethel Gospel Tabernacle, Pastor Michael Middlebrook invited folks up  while the band played "Down on My Knees".  Many responded!  Be it in a church, at a blues festival or in a night club, Danny and Debi share their life stories of overcoming failures and addictions through their faith, in their songs!

WHAT'S NEW

Miracles For Breakfast / The Journey ContinuesFirst review from renowned author and motivational speaker Denis Waitley - Seeds of Greatness, The Winners Edge"Danny Brooks lives his music and his new book is a lyrical banquet of true miracles experienced in his challenging, continuing journey on God's highway.  He, and his wife Debi, are examples of what we all can achieve, if we believe and take daily actions based upon genuine love and eternal truth."

This is Danny Brooks second book, following up on his 2008 Miracles For Breakfast / How Faith Helped Me Kick My Addictions', published by John Wiley & Sons. It is slated for a 2017 publication and is the first of a new 7 book ‘Miracles For Breakfast Series'.  Carrying on in the miracle theme, the book begins at the point of his life when he suffered heart problems during a 2010 gig at Threadgills in Austin Texas, Danny was able to remarkably finish the gig and continued on with the tour for another 5 weeks, before returning home to discover he had five major, completely blocked arteries! The book settles into a motivational groove inspired by one of Brooks’ motivational heroes Denis Waitley who’s book Seeds Of Greatness had a profound affect on Danny’s life.

In the ‘down-time’ while awaiting their immigration issues to be settled, they used the time as creatively as possible and now a 2nd book in the series is complete ‘Miracles For Breakfast / The Lonely Battle’. Says Brooks “this may be the best writing I have done and is a book that I should have written long ago”. With the interest/controversy of Patrick Kennedy's new book, ‘A Common Struggle: A Personal Journey Through The Past and Future of Mental Illness and Addiction’, 'The Lonely Battle' is a book for this current time. It focuses on the time period of coming to the realization you have a problem, getting into a rehabilitation center and the crucial two years leading einto recovery. It is both compelling and informative for the addict and family members and once again written from personal experiences, laced with motivational examples and direction. “I personally applaud Patrick Kennedy for his being open and forthright about his own difficulties and that of his family’s. It shows others they are not alone, and there is nothing to be ashamed of. It happens to the best of us and it is beatable!”

Danny and Lil Miss Debi will begin work on; 'Inspirations For Living', combining some of Debi’s photos, coupled with inspirational sayings, commentary and poetry. Also on deck is a complete 3 book series ‘Stories Behind The Songs’, the lyrics, reliving the travels, tales, working with the likes of Jim Dickinson, Bo Didley, Johnny Sandlin, Louis X Erlanger, Brownie McGhee, The Muscle Shoals musicians, Bootroots, The Beach Boys, Darrell Staedtler and others that make for both a commanding, humorous, inspirational and motivational read.  Lastly, Lil Miss Debi and Danny Brooks will be starting a new series of coloring books entitled "Color Our Tour" which will allow the "artist" to come along with the Brooks on each of their tours.  Coloring books have become a means of relaxation for young and old alike.
We look forward to seeing y’all up the road on our travels!

I cannot thank you enough for your continued support at the Halton House. As mentioned to you, my husband Darrell was afflicted by the horrible disease of alcohol addiction.

Through your music, my husband's eyes were opened, through your story Darrell has had a life changing miracle. This has caused our family unit to be stronger than anyone could have imagined.

We have truly been blessed and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Blessings,
Elizabeth
